Chopper Spirals Wildly into Palm Groves at Well-Known California Beach
An aircraft flying over a popular California shoreline unexpectedly began spiraling out of control, ultimately dropping height and plunging into a row of palm trees as beachgoers watched.
Footage uploaded on the internet show the aircraft beginning to twirl above the shoreline then plunging near the edge of the beach, where it ends up lodged amidst palms and a staircase near the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Update
Local firefighters said five persons were transported to a medical facility including two individuals who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the accident on Saturday.
Three people on the road were injured. Specifics on their injuries were not immediately available.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
